Meredith Bowden
Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Master of Strategic Foresight (Management), Graduate Diploma in Education (Early Childhood)
Hello, my name is Meredith (she/her). I am a Psychologist and I help adults to navigate life challenges and transitions (including menopause and perimenopause) with confidence and hope. I help them to develop insight and self-compassion, to improve their mental health and wellbeing, and to find meaningful ways forward, even when things are uncertain.
The majority of my practice focuses on:
- menopause and perimenopause
- workplace stress and burnout
- parenting support
- self-awareness, self-compassion, thriving
My clients often come to therapy feeling stuck, lost or overwhelmed, but after working together they typically feel energised, empowered and hopeful, confident that they can influence their future in meaningful ways.

About Me
For many years I have worked alongside people of all ages to navigate life transitions and help them live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Whether you’re anxious, grieving, stressed, child-wrangling, navigating a transition, or perhaps just a little bit stuck, we can work together to find ways to move forward that are empowering, rejuvenating and aligned with your values.
The relationship you have with your psychologist is central to the effectiveness of therapy, and I take a warm, open, encouraging and non-judgemental approach. We move at your pace, and you choose how deep you want to go. Where useful, I can suggest practical strategies to help you improve your mental health and wellbeing.
Menopause and perimenopause
I have a particular interest in supporting women who are navigating the life transition of menopause and perimenopause. I can help you understand and manage the physical, psychological, emotional, cognitive, energetic and social changes that are happening as part of this transition.
I can also support you with the other midlife stressors that are probably going for you as well, such as caring for aging parents, preparing for an empty nest, changes in relationships and career changes. I will help you to connect with what matters to you, manage stress and anxiety, and create sustainable habits to ensure you have a joyful, healthy and meaningful second half of life.
Services
I take an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring evidence-based interventions to each unique individual. My work is informed by hope theory & prospection, attachment theory, family systems theory, and neuroscience. I am trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and gender-affirming.
