Dr Olivia Campbell

Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology & Forensic Science), Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), PhD (Clinical Psychology), MAPS

Hello, my name is Olivia (she/her). I am a Clinical Psychologist and I help people who are thoughtful, self-reflective, and interested in developing a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their emotional patterns.

The majority of my practice focuses on:

  • attachment trauma

  • supporting therapists

  • queer and neurodivergent experiences

  • self-compassion

My clients are typically high-functioning, emotionally curious, and motivated to engage in reflective work. Over time, they commonly report feeling more self-aware, confident, and better able to respond (rather than react) to life’s challenges.

About Me

Feminism

I work with people of all genders, but my intersectional feminist values stand out in my work. I acknowledge the mental health field is patriarchal and am sensitive and intentional in my work to empower women.

LGBTIQA+

I use this acronym to speak about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, Pansexual, Brotherboys and Sistergirls, Non-Binary and Gender Non-Conforming, and other identities. All of these are important, no matter where their letter falls.

Neurodivergence

My practice is grounded in a neuroaffirming perspective that recognises neurodiversity as a natural and valuable form of human variation. I acknowledge that society was designed for neurotypical brains and I am thoughtful and intentional in supporting clients to understand and honour their neurotypes, and build ways of living that feel authentic and sustainable.

My work is informed by interpersonal neurobiology (which combines attachment theory, polyvagal theory and mindfulness principles) and procedural justice theory. I am trauma-informed, gender-affirming, neuro-affirming and culturally-sensitive in my practice.
