Tess Jennings
Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Master of Professional Psychology
Hello, my name is Tess (she/her). I am a psychologist and credentialed eating disorder clinician and I help adults and adolescents (16+) experiencing a range of mental health concerns. A lot of my work involves supporting people with eating disorders and body-related distress to access greater acceptance, self compassion and quality of life. I also work with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent individuals to explore identity and challenge internalised stigma.
The majority of my practice focuses on:
eating disorders
body image concerns and body dysmorphia
gender, sexuality, and identity
attachment anxiety
My clients often come to therapy feeling stuck in painful patterns of shame and self-criticism, or exhausted by their relationship with food and their bodies. Together, we work toward disrupting harmful patterns and developing more compassionate ways of relating to themselves.

About my work
As an openly queer clinician, I work with LGBTQIA+ individuals exploring identity, internalised homophobia and transphobia, and experiences where aspects of identity, such as culture or religion, may feel complex or in conflict. I also work frequently with people navigating intersections between gender identity, neurodivergence, eating disorders, trauma, and body-related distress.
My approach is warm and collaborative, and informed by psychodynamic and attachment-oriented ways of relating. It is also guided by social justice principles. I remain mindful of my positionality as a white, able-bodied, cisgender woman and aim to provide inclusive care for people who may have experienced marginalisation or harm within traditional healthcare settings.
I am trauma-informed, gender-affirming, neuro-affirming, culturally-inclusive, weight-Inclusive and offer non-diet support.
